Pascal Maher

Pascal Maher, Clinical Director, Cluas.

Pascal qualified as a Psychologist in 1974 and worked as a Guidance Counsellor for City of Dublin VEC and in a Community school in Tallaght for 20 years where he counselled and worked with students in the ‘special’ classes and students who had developmental difficulties.

He trained as a Psychotherapist/ Family Therapist in 1990 and has been teaching a counselling course at National University of Ireland Maynooth for the last 17 years, and has supervised students studying the Master’s in Counselling course at Trinity College Dublin, and was an occasional lecturer for five years, while working as a counsellor/psychotherapist.

He trained in Neuro Developmental Therapy and developed a practise in Terenure for 5 years. Later he trained in Listening Therapy in Paris, Washington and Vienna in order to offer more positive help to young people with mild to severe developmental delay.

Seven years ago Pascal set up Cluas, the first and only centre of its kind in Ireland using Listening Therapy and Neuro Developmental Therapy to help children who have mild to severe developmental delay. These include Children with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Speech and Language Difficulties, ADD/ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome and other children on the Autistic spectrum. He has worked with 800 children, teens and adults at Cluas.

At Cluas there are now a team of nine people which includes Pascal – Clinical Director, Ronan Maher – Programme Director, Louise Quinlan – Centre Manager in Cork and a team of Listening Therapists.
